Gannon University to Observe MLK Day with Live-Streamed Event
Gannon University will honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. with an event that will be live-streamed at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18.
Members of the Gannon and surrounding communities are invited to participate in this time of reflection by visiting the Gannon University Facebook page where the live-stream will be shared at the time of the event.
The service will include readings, prayer and reflection that engage the community in honoring one of history’s most influential leaders. It will conclude with a call to the community to honor Martin Luther King Jr.’s challenge to live in truth, love and justice.
As part of this, Lori Lindley, Ph.D., dean of the College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, and Becky Perry, director of the Center for Social Concerns and Global Exploration, will provide insights into the University’s newly formed Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee. This committee focuses on long-term institutional planning as well as immediate engagement opportunities for Gannon community members in the area of diversity, equity and inclusion.
