Gannon's 90.5 WERG FM to present Christmas Eve Special
Gannon University’s 90.5 WERG FM invites you to tune in for its special annual holiday production, A Golden Christmas, which will feature 24 hours of Christmas and holiday programming streamed locally and globally on Christmas Eve.
Selections include the narration of One Silent Night by legendary news anchor Walter Cronkite, Christmas carols “then & now”, Handel’s Messiah, A Dickens Christmas narrated by actor John Rhys-Davies (from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade), and Christmas and holiday tunes throughout the day presented by Gannon students and staff.
One special piece is The Last Noel, a story of a very special Christmas as told by former Gannon College professor, John Rouch, Ph.D. In the ’70s, Rouch hosted a series on WERG called The Storyteller, narrating tales spun out of his real-life experiences. This digital recording was restored after originally broadcasting over WERG on Dec. 18, 1973.
