Gannon University Competitive Cheer
The Gannon competitive cheerleading team capped its time at the Reach the Beach competition with a pair of titles, as both all-girl and coed won their divisions Sunday.
Coed turned in a second straight day of scoring 92-plus, netting a 92.55 after deductions Sunday. They finished with a total score of 92.366 over two days, and scored 4.80 in both pyramid and toss technique, as well as 9.80 in choreography and crowd leading.
The Knights topped Southern Virginia by more than three points in the Advanced Small Coed division.
All-girl turned in a 4.80 in running tumbling technique, a 4.70 in toss technique and a 9.80 in choreography Sunday. They finished the day with an 90.6833, upping their score by more than three points from Saturday.
They finished with an overall score of 89.0917 to edge Shepherd by less than eight-tenths of a point in the Advanced All-Girl division.
The gameday squad, which was uncontested in its division, raised its score by over 10 points Sunday, finishing with an 80.60. That was highlighted by 8.50 in fight song execution and 8.30 in fight song visual.
Gannon will get a weekend off before returning to start their stretch run at Elmira's Upstate Collegiate Challenge on March 8.
