Part of the #MakeChange: Stand Up. Speak Out. CHESS lecture series. Ms. Karagianis will give her large talk on Wednesday, February 5 in the Yehl Ballroom at 7 p.m.
Award winning writer and journalist Maria Karagianis will describe her experiences as a college student in Boston during the late 1960s demonstrations for women’s rights, civil rights, and against the Vietnam War. Learn about how, as a young reporter, she covered the South African apartheid and later observed the refugee crisis on the Greek island of Lesbos. She went on to create a non-profit called Discovering Justice in the US Courthouse in Boston that teaches civics, justice and democracy.
