Congratulations to the 2019 Gannon University Sport Management and Marketing Scholarship recipients Taylor Huffman and Alex Pepke. This scholarship is a student-run initiative that involves a fundraising partnership with the Erie SeaWolve's minor league baseball club and the Gannon University Sport Business Student Association. The scholarship is available to Gannon University Sport Management and Marketing majors with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The Gannon University Sport Business Student Association is open to all Gannon University students who have an interest in sports and business. This is the fourth year of the scholarship opportunity, and it is entirely funded by student fundraising efforts in Gannon University Sport Management and Marketing courses. The revenue generated for this project has continually increased, and this year the scholarship was increased from $500 to $1,000 due to the efforts of the students and faculty members in the Gannon University Sport Management and Marketing program.

The faculty members associated with the Gannon University Sport Management and Marketing program, Dr. Jinhee Yoo and Dr. Eric Brownlee worked closely with the Sport Business Association student president, Brian Harding, to coordinate this project. Dr. Eric Brownlee provided the following comments regarding this year's recipients and the scholarship. "This is a great opportunity for our students to get real world experience selling tickets and working at a minor league baseball game, and I'm very proud of Taylor and Alex who are both excellent representatives of the Gannon University Sport Management and Marketing program. A career in the sports industry is very competitive and real-world experience like this differentiates our students at Gannon University."
