Two Gannon honors students helped shape the inaugural issue of Illuminate: The Undergraduate Journal of the Northeast Regional Honors Council.

Honors student Alaina McKenna, a Criminal Justice and Psychology major, is a member of the editorial board that reviews submissions and edits the journal. McKenna said, “Working on this journal has been an awesome experience. I got to read so many amazing articles and helped contributors bring their work to fruition. I hope you all enjoy reading Illuminate as much as I enjoyed getting to work on it!”

Illuminate published the short story, “Cleaning Job,” by honors alumnus and former vice chair of the Gannon honors student advisory board, Zachary Aszalos, ’19, a Mathematics major.

“I’m so proud of the many honors students who go above and beyond the call of duty to pursue opportunities. Alaina and Zach did incredible work for this journal,” said director of honors and associate professor of English Ann Bomberger.

The Northeast Regional Honors Council is comprised of approximately two hundred honors programs and is affiliated with the National Collegiate Honors Council.
