Gannon University’s Academic Safety Committee in partnership with the Provost’s Office hosted its “We Love Safety” Fall 2021 Fair from Nov. 29 to Dec. 10 in the Nash Library and Ruskin’s Center Space.
More than 30 biology students presented their semester-long research projects via an interactive poster display of the science of COVID-19. Gannon community members could take a self-guided tour of posters and explore the structure of the virus, view data on vaccine effectiveness, discover emerging treatments, and more.
Guests could also access QR codes on each poster to view students’ recorded video presentations.
“We are really proud of the work that Gary, Matt and their students have done on this project, and the positive impact that their work is having on sharing the science of COVID-19 with our Erie and Ruskin campus communities,” said Lisa Nogaj, Ph.D., professor of chemistry and associate dean of the School of Science.
The event was spearheaded by Gary Vanderlaan, Ph.D., assistant professor of biology, and Matt Gucara, assistant professor of biology.
UASC members and biology faculty served as judges to choose the top presentation for each poster.
