Ryan Cedzo '21 shared his award-winning, citizen-drawn state legislative map to the Legislative Reapportionment Commission's ninth public hearing.
Gannon University alum Ryan Cedzo ’21 presented his award-winning citizen-drawn state legislative map during the Legislative Reapportionment Commission’s ninth public hearing on Monday, Nov. 16.
The hearing invited Draw the Lines, Fair Districts PA and other citizen activists to demonstrate how citizen mappers understand redistricting and how to create maps of their home communities that provide fair outcomes for all the people of Pennsylvania.
Cedzo was one of two recent legislative competition winners chosen by the Citizen Map Corps. to analyze redistricting in their home regions.
As a student in Gannon’s mathematics program, Cedzo was honored by Draw the Lines PA as one of its champion citizen mappers at a PA Map Day event on March 18, 2020 in the State Capitol in Harrisburg. Cedzo took first place in the Higher Education Division – Western Region.
