Evil Dead: The Musical

Evil Dead: The Musical

Gannon University’s Schuster Theatre will be doing a musical production of Evil Dead: The Musical at 8 p.m. on October 21-23 and 28-30, as well as at 2 p.m. on Oct. 30 at the Schuster Theatre, 620 Sassafrass St.

Evil Dead: the Musical is directed by Angela Howell, assistant professor of theatre at Gannon. The musical features five college students who visit an abandoned cabin and accidentally unleash an evil force. The production takes all the elements of the cult classic films, Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness, combining them into one of the craziest, funniest, and bloodiest theatrical experiences.

Tickets are available on the Schuster Theatre website for $15. Gannon students can use the code “ASH” to get $10 off their ticket purchase. Only one code can be used per transaction. Students must show their Gannon IDs at the door when arriving.

According to Gannon University’s COVID-19 guidelines and the CDC, audience members must wear a mask for the entire show.

“This show is campy, creepy, silly, bloody, and a great show for Halloween," Manchester said. "It makes fun of itself and of horror movies in general - and you can’t do that without respecting the genre you are poking fun at.”

This production is not suitable for children. It contains adult language, themes, violence, gun violence, and simulated gore. Viewer discretion is advised.
