Celebrate Gannon, Day of Giving, Virtual Events in 2021
Gannon University is continuing its tradition of Celebrate Gannon through a digital
platform that will showcase the scholarly and creative work of our students this Friday, April 23.
The event celebrates the culmination of a year’s worth of scholarship, research, engagement and fine art
collaborations between our students, faculty and staff. Students’ work will be presented via a digital publication in
addition to virtual presentations.
The University will celebrate a total of 122 submissions during the event. These include research and course projects
that focus on topics such as the detection and removal of micro and meso plastics and fungal spore dispersion
across Presque Isle Bay; the design and construction of a buoy that extends the data collection period in Lake Erie;
green infrastructure for urban campuses; and factors that influence the spread of COVID-19 on university campuses,
among others.
Students at the Ruskin campus will also present their invaluable experience conducting research in their clinical
settings.
This year’s virtual format combines Gannon’s Erie campus and Ruskin campus events to create a shared celebration
of accomplishments. Students from locations like Puerto Rico will also be able to share their work using this digital
platform.

22 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 23. This event is an opportunity to give back to Gannon by supporting the area that
