Metz Culinary Management named Pete Mannarelli the 2020 Higher Education General Manager of the Year.
The General Manager of the Year Award recognizes the general manager who has consistently demonstrated outstanding performances in all aspects of their operation and significantly contributes to the growth and goals of their client/partner and their division.
In addition to this recognition, Mannarelli also celebrated 25 years with Metz in 2020.
“We are so proud of Pete and the partnership he has created with Gannon University,” said Maureen Metz, executive vice president of Metz Culinary Management. “Pete has been a part of the Metz and Gannon families for over 25 years now and he continues to excel, which lead to this year's award of GM of the Year for our higher education division. During the very uncertain times of COVID, Pete and his team have to quickly pivot, adjusting dining models to meet every changing needs, regulations and expectations. Close collaboration with our Gannon partners, as well as the talent and creativity of his team was key to meeting unique demands and keeps our teams and guests safe.”
Denise Golden, Ed.D., director of residence life at Gannon and liaison of the dining services contract, emphasized Mannarelli’s good work with the University.
“Pete is the best dining services manager that I have worked with in my career, which has spanned working with several other managers representing all other major college food service companies,” Golden said. “He is dedicated, conscientious, forward thinking, and flexible – characteristics that translate into a great experience for all constituents; students, faculty, staff and community.”
