Dr. VanWye was hired July 2018 at Gannon University as an Assistant Professor. He has been teaching within an entry-level doctor of physical therapy program since 2015. He teaches the clinical medicine, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and health care system and policy courses. His expertise includes cardiopulmonary physical therapy, clinical exercise physiology, and differential diagnosis. Dr. VanWye received a BS in Exercise Science from Indiana University in 2001, a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of Indianapolis in 2006, and a MS in Exercise Science from Indiana University in 2007. He has worked in numerous settings including as a co-owner of a private physical therapy practice in Columbus, OH specializing in clinical exercise physiology, sports medicine, orthopaedics, and workers’ compensation. He is a Board Certified Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Clinical Specialist (CCS) and holds credentials as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, both of which are the highest credentials awarded by the American College of Sports Medicine and National Strength and Conditioning Association, respectively. Dr. VanWye is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
