Shakespeare Summer Nights Presents SHREWD: THE TAMING OF THE SHREW PROJECT
How do you perform a play whose story mainly concerns itself
with the taming of a woman to be a submissive and dutiful wife in
2019? You don't. Inspired by Nikita Gill's poem "An Ode To Fearless
Women," this all-female ensemble reframes one of Shakespeare's most
controversial plays to reflect the ways in which womanhood is
war. This play is offered free of charge at the Lake Erie
Arboretum in Frontier Park and donations will be accepted for
Gannon University's Schuster Theatre. Rain location will be
Gannon University's Schuster Theatre (620 Sassafras Street) and
will be announced prior to the show on the Schuster Theatre
Facebook page.
