Ride Science - The Science Behind the Scenes Summer Camp 2023

To increase the number of youths interested in STEM careers, Gannon University, in partnership with the Regional Science Consortium (RSC) will deliver Ride Science for 25 middle school students. This three-day residential program will be implemented using a “learn, experience, create” approach to STEM education. This project combines education, community assets and industry partners to meet the overarching goal: to teach students how STEM impacts their everyday lives while simultaneously exposing them to careers in STEM. This program consists of touring Erie Waterworks, Eriez Magnetics, and the Regional Science Consortium to learn about different engineering and physics projects in the Erie community. Students will also spend the day at Waldameer Park and Water World conducting experiments on various rides and roller coasters. On their last day of camp, students will work with RSC content experts, Gannon faculty, and student assistants to build their own engineering project.
