Understanding Manufacturing Technologies Summer Camp 2023

Welcome to Understanding Manufacturing Technologies (UMT) Summer Camp! This camp is designed to introduce students to the exciting world of manufacturing technologies, including 3D printing, laser cutting, and machining. Through hands-on activities and workshops, students will gain a foundational understanding of each technology and learn how they can be used to create innovative solutions to real-world problems. Throughout the camp, students will work in teams to design, prototype, and test their own projects using the tools and techniques they have learned. By the end of the camp, students will have a solid understanding of manufacturing technologies and the skills to continue exploring and creating with these powerful tools.

Students at UMT Summer Camp will also have the opportunity to build and take home their own 3D printer! Through a series of workshops, students will learn how to assemble and calibrate a 3D printer from scratch, gaining a deeper understanding of how the technology works. Once their printers are complete, students will have the chance to experiment with printing their own designs and troubleshooting any issues that arise. This hands-on experience will give students a unique perspective on 3D printing technology and equip them with valuable skills for future projects.
