    Program Director; Assistant or Associate Professor, Cybersecurity

    Gannon University’s School of Engineering and Computing invites applications for a Program Director/Assistant-Associate Professor for the cybersecurity programs. The appointment for this nine-month tenure track position with summer administrative responsibilities begins in August 2022. The ideal candidate will teach in and continue to develop the undergraduate and graduate-level programs in cybersecurity and computing, fulfill teaching needs within the department, and engage students through dynamic instruction, research projects, and advising.  The successful candidate shall have established scholarly achievement in research and teaching, demonstrated experience/laboratory development for cybersecurity in the areas of defense/operations, experience/knowledge with cyber applications in the Internet of Things (IoT), experience/knowledge with ABET accreditation, and NSA certification for Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE), and an established record of leadership in a collaborative setting.

    Chair, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program

    Responsibilities: Gannon University is committed to excellence in student-centered learning with an emphasis on student learning outcomes. The program works collaboratively, with an emphasis on professional education integrated with liberal-learning student outcomes, advisement of students, scholarly engagement within the Boyer Model of Scholarship, and interactive and collaborative teaching and learning styles. The University’s excellent faculty also advises students and engages in creative scholarly activities and in professional, University, and community service activities and partnerships. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University’s inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.

    The DPT Program in Erie, PA is a full-time 33-month program, which has a 30-year history of preparing students for a successful career in the PT profession. The curriculum is provided in a problem-oriented, system-based competency format, emphasizing evidence-based practice, generalist clinical skills, and community health. The DPT Program has available advanced technology for motion and gait analysis, balance rehabilitation, and diagnostic imaging. Interprofessional collaboration is in place with other health professions in the college, including OT, AT, SLP and biomedical engineering. Student-managed pro bono clinics allow collaboration with clinical partners and the community to provide clinical and wellness services to student-athletes, children, and adults with mobility needs. Students and faculty participate in service projects locally and in Mexico.

    The program has had continuous CAPTE accreditation since its founding in 1992 and includes a cohesive and stable faculty of ten full-time physical therapists and a supportive clinical community that allows a positive environment for teaching, scholarship, and service responsibilities.

    Requirements: To be considered, candidates must provide evidence of a minimum of 6 years of full-time higher education experience, including effective leadership within a PT or PTA program, with faculty and students. Successful teaching methods and productive scholarship as a core faculty member in a DPT program for at least three full-time years are required. The successful candidate must have an academic doctoral degree; a minimum rank of associate or clinical (teaching) associate professor and be eligible for Pennsylvania PT licensure.

    The Provost and Vice President for Student Experience advises the President and acts on the President’s behalf during his absence and is responsible for all undergraduate and graduate academic matters, student academic support services, and program development, delivery, and assessment. The Provost/VPSE provides leadership for the curriculum and integration with the co-curriculum, including the liberal studies core curriculum; all undergraduate and graduate academic program curricula and faculty development programs; student development and engagement, residence life and food services, athletics, health and wellness, and student support; and assessment and planning within the division.

    The University is experiencing its largest enrollment in its history, eclipsing 4,750 students, including 15% racial diversity and an additional 20% from nearly 70 other countries. It has achieved consecutive, substantial annual financial operating surpluses at nearly $4 million on an approximately $100 million FY21 budget; launched a $100 million comprehensive campaign that has already raised more than $75 million in advance of its 100-year anniversary celebration in 2025; engaged its nearly 1,000 (632 full-time) employees in their development as a campus environment that earned honor roll status as a Great College To Work For®; and moved into a new strategic plan that continues more than a decade of successful execution of thoughtful plans and strategic initiatives. These accomplishments have led to a healthy campus learning and work environment, the creation of a successful additional location in Ruskin, Fla., as well as more than $150 million of capital projects on the Erie campus.
