Gannon Welcome Week

  •  Gannon Family

Gannon Welcome Week is the official start to your Gannon experience!  This extended orientation is a transition period designed to help you settle into campus, build connections with the Gannon community, find opportunities that match your interests, and develop a sense of belonging on Gannon's campus before classes start.

This year, Gannon Welcome Week starts with move-in on Thursday, August 19, 2021.  Both commuters and residents are required to participate in Welcome Week events.

Gannon Welcome Week is designed to be common yet customizable, letting you choose your own adventure throughout the week.  We do this through our Find Your FYT program.  FYT stands for "First-Year Team" and is an immersive program designed to introduce first-year students to the university through their personal interests.  Students choose an interest theme and spend time learning about Gannon and engaging in activities with a small group of peers based on that theme.

Each FYT group is led by a Transition Guide, one of our trained student leaders.  These Transition Guides are your personal guide to what it means to be a Gannon Golden Knight.  They serve as mentors who have been through this before and can help you build connections and Find Your FYT at Gannon.

We encourage you to begin thinking about what group best fits your interests so that you know your preferences before you register for a group.  We do our best to place every student in their top preference for FYT themes.  However, the sooner you sign up, the better your chances are.

As a reminder, Gannon Welcome Week and Find Your FYT is mandatory for all incoming students including commuters, global students and student-athletes.

All incoming students are required to be fully present from

Thursday, August 19 through Tuesday, August 24.

Mandatory programs are from 1:30pm - 9:30pm each day.

Please contact the Leadership Development & Campus Engagement (LDCE) office with any questions and/or concerns at or (814)871-7138.
