
Recent graduates of the sport management and marketing program are employed with several sports-related organizations such as the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Pirates, Memphis Redbirds, Erie SeaWolves, Erie Otters and Erie Bayhawks.
Gannon is part of a pilot sales training program with the Pittsburgh Pirates, providing students real-world experience with a leading sports franchise.
Sport management and marketing students have the opportunity to learn about sustainability in sports by working at the annual MLB All-Star Game. Students can also learn about the Olympic bid process by participating in the annual learning abroad experience to Beijing and Shanghai, China.
- The Dahlkemper School of Business was the first business school in northwestern Pennsylvania with both undergraduate and graduate programs to receive global accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
- The Dahlkemper School of Business delivers a values-centered business curriculum that provides students with advanced business knowledge through the development of critical-thinking skills, effective communication skills, ethics-based decision making, comprehension of global business concepts, leadership and team-building skills, and the desire to become a lifelong learner.
You Will Learn
With the proliferation of sports teams, facilities and business, there is a growing need for professionals interested in combining their passion and talent for the marketing and management of sport industries. While applying their marketing and management interests to the sports professions, students in this major advance their education while drawing on multiple areas of knowledge and skills learned and experienced in the classroom, in lab settings and on sports-specific sites at the local, regional and national levels. This major seeks to combine a strong foundation in theory and practice in preparing the student for advanced degree programs or entry careers in a variety of fields.

You Will Experience
Students will experience an innovative education in the Center for Business Ingenuity, utilizing state-of-the-art technology and global software. Students will receive hands-on opportunities through internships and service-learning projects with major and minor league sports teams and organizations, as well as through the unique collaboration between Gannon University’s Dahlkemper School of Business, Small Business Development Center and Erie Technology Incubator.

You Will Study
Students obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) are able to choose from 13 concentrations to prepare for a career in the field of their choice. Students also have the opportunity to complete the Master of Business Administration with one additional year of study through the five-year MBA program.
