SEVENTH IN NCAA DIVISION II POLL

ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon women’s lacrosse team dropped one spot to seventh in the latest Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Top 10 poll released Tuesday afternoon. The poll considered only matches played through Sunday, March 23 and did not reflect last night’s 16-6 victory over Division I Niagara.

C.W. Post (4-0), the reigning national champion, remained No. 1 for the sixth consecutive week. The Pioneers took seven of the 10 first-place votes and earned 96 points. Limestone (S.C.) (7-1) is tabbed second with the remaining three first-place votes and 90 points.

Stonehill (Mass.) (2-0), West Chester (3-1), and Adelphi (N.Y.) (4-0) complete the top five.

Lock Haven (3-1), Gannon (4-1), Mercyhurst (5-2), Queens (N.C.) (6-3), and Pfeiffer (N.C.) (5-4) round out the top 10.

Gannon split two matches last week, dropping a 12-9 decision at Division I Canisius before rebounding with a 20-8 victory over ninth-ranked Queens. The Lady Knights moved to 5-1 with a 16-6 victory over Niagara last night.

Taryn Millerd (Shortsville, N.Y./Midlakes) leads the Gannon offense with 20 goals, eight assists, and 28 points.
