GANNON'S
GOLDCAMP NAMED GLIAC
BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ERIE, Pa. - Gannon’s Kyle
Goldcamp (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) has been named Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the
Week.
Goldcamp led Gannon to a pair of big GLIAC South Division road victories
last week, winning at Wayne State (65-39) and Hillsdale (80-75). The junior
center averaged 20 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and 1.5 blocks in
two games. He shot 60 percent (18-30) from the field and 80 percent (4-5)
from the free throw line.
The Pittsburgh Pa., native scored a career-high 28 points while recording
his third double-double of the season (12 rebounds) during Gannon’s first
victory in Hillsdale since 2003-04. With Gannon trailing 75-73, Goldcamp
converted a basket while being fouled. His three-point play gave Gannon a
76-75 lead with 2:05 to play and the Golden Knights never trailed again.
Goldcamp has reached double digits in scoring during 10 of the last 11 games,
including four performances of at least 21 points. He ranks second among
GLIAC players and sixth nationally in field goal percentage (66.5). Goldcamp
leads the GLIAC in blocked shots per game (3.05), blocking at least two shots
in 17 of 19 games.
Gannon (17-2, 9-1), ranked 15th in NCAA Division II, returns to action Thursday,
