GANNON'S MOSLEY AND GOLDCAMP
NAMED TO NABC ALL-REGION TEAMS
ALL-AMERICA TEAM TO BE ANNOUNCED AT NCAA ELITE EIGHT
ERIE, Pa. - Gannon’s Vince
Mosley (Boynton Beach, Fla./Dillard) and Kyle Goldcamp (Pittsburgh,
Pa./Central Catholic) have been named to the National Association of
Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Great Lakes Region teams released Tuesday afternoon.
The Division II All-America teams will be released in conjunction with the
NCAA Division II Elite Eight in Springfield, Mass.
Mosley was joined on the All-Great Lakes Region first team by Callistus Eziukwu
(Grand Valley State), Josh Bostic (Findlay), Jason Jamerson (Grand Valley
State), Jeff Fahnbulleh (Kentucky Wesleyan), and Collins Harris (Drury).
Goldcamp was named to the all-region second team. He was joined by Norman
Plummer (Southern Indiana), Tim Homan (Hillsdale), Stephen Bolt (Lewis),
and Rodney Edgerson (Kentucky Wesleyan). Grand Valley State’s Ric Wesley
was named Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year.
Mosley was earlier named to the Daktronics All-Region second team and the
All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division
first team. He led Gannon in scoring (16.4) while ranking second in field
goal percentage (56.6) and rebounding (6.5). The senior forward shot 56.1
percent (183-326) from the field, 42.1 percent (16-38) from three-point range,
and 68.9 percent (111-161) from the free throw line. He scored at least 11
points in 25 of 30 games he played in, including a season-high 30 at Wayne
State. His 11-of-12 showing at Tiffin on February 19 accounted for the 11th-highest
single-game shooting percentage among NCAA Division II players this season.
The Boynton Beach, Fla., native ranked seventh among GLIAC players in scoring,
seventh in field goal percentage, ninth in defensive rebounds per game (4.53),
12th in rebounding, 13th in offensive rebounds per game (1.97), and 15th
in assists per game (2.60).
Goldcamp, an All-GLIAC South Division first-team selection, led Gannon in
rebounding (8.0), blocked shots per game (2.5), and field goal percentage
(66.5). The junior center was second on the team in scoring (15.2). He led
the GLIAC and ranked 11th nationally in blocked shots per game. Goldcamp
also led the GLIAC and ranked ninth among NCAA Division II players in field
goal percentage. His nine blocks during a 66-61 victory over No. 7 Findlay
equaled the seventh-highest single-game total in NCAA Division II this season.
The Pittsburgh, Pa., native recorded seven double-doubles and reached double
digits in scoring 25 times. He ranked fourth among GLIAC players in offensive
rebounds per game (2.90), fifth in rebounding, seventh in defensive rebounds
per game (5.13), and 13th in scoring. Goldcamp blocked at least two shots
in 23 of 31 contests. He posted a career-high 28 points during Gannon’s NCAA
Tournament first-round victory against Drury.
Gannon was one of the best turnaround stories in all divisions of the NCAA.
The Golden Knights rebounded from a 9-17 record last season with a 26-5 mark
and national ranking as high as seventh this season. The squad won the GLIAC
South Division with a 15-2 conference record and is one of two teams in school
history to win 26 games. Only the 1986-87 team that played in the NCAA Division
II title game won more contests with a 28-6 record.
Gannon made its 21st NCAA Tournament appearance last weekend and first since
2005. The Golden Knights picked up their first NCAA Tournament victory since
1995 with a 73-56 win against Drury (Mo.) in the first round last Saturday.
