Gannon Honors student Taylor Bennett, ’21, and Director of Honors Ann Bomberger were recently elected to the Executive Board of the Northeast Regional Honors Council (NRHC). The council supports honors education and represents nearly 200 colleges and universities.

The Executive Board of NRHC plans the annual conference, reviews scholarship applications, and charts the course of the organization.  Gannon Honors student Alaina McKenna, ’22, a Criminal Justice/Psychology major, is also involved in NRHC, serving on its journal.

Bennett, a Psychology/Pre-Med student, says, “Being a part of the honors program has offered me many amazing opportunities while I have been at Gannon.”  She is currently the Gannon Honors Student Advisory Board Vice Chair and the Honors program’s work study student.

Bennett says, “I hope to learn many things as student representative, whether it be new leadership skills, new ideas to improve our honors program or anything else that will help me grow as a person and as a leader.”

Bomberger, who is also an Associate Professor of English at Gannon, is the NRHC’s Web Editor and will be responsible for its website. She notes, “clear, consistent communication is an incredibly important part of any organization, and I am glad to be able to bring my skillset to support NRHC.”
