Environmental Science students at Erie Earth Day Festival 2018
Join us at Gannon’s Hammermill Center on April 27th from 1-5pm for an afternoon of fun and celebration of Earth Day 2019. The Festival brings together local green businesses, community partners, and colleges to share hands-on environmental education activities. The event will feature over 40 environmental groups and green vendors, a K-12 art contest, an electric car demonstration, entertainment and more.
Earth Day is celebrated annually in April with events worldwide in support of the environment and to raise awareness for the environmental protection. The theme of Earth Day 2019 is Protect Our Species.
Dr. Sherri Mason will be the keynote speaker for the event. Dr. Mason completed her doctorate in Chemistry as a NASA Earth System Science scholar. Her work at SUNY Fredonia formed the basis for the Microbeads-Free Water Act, signed into law in 2015. In 2018 she has received both the EPA Environmental Champion award and The Heinz Award in Public Policy.
The event is free and open to all.
