    • SE majors in the program learn to:
      • Realize and manage high quality software development lifecycle processes in one or more application domains
      • Apply discrete mathematics and abstract structures to system development
      • Apply quantitative measures in the evaluation of software components and systems
    • Professionally-involved, technical faculty, including those with professional certification in software development, teach and mentor majors.
    • The SE program is hosted by the Computer and Information Science (CIS) department along with the related CIS majors of the computing and information fields: bioinformatics, computer science, and information systems.
    • The program shares CIS facilities and courses with the related majors in the computing and information fields enabling participation in interdisciplinary and team-based projects.
