Students who live in the apartments or one of the small houses will have a housing commitment of nine months. Summer Housing is available in select apartment buildings.
Students going through the housing process are required to pay a $100 housing fee with their request in the selection process. A receipt for the deposit must be submitted with the request. The deposit is non-refundable. Students are responsible for a $500 termination fee if they do not reside in the unit that they signed for in the housing commitment form, beyond the fourth semester in residence. If the student attempts to live off campus during one of the first four semesters they will be charged the going room rate for the semester.
All freshmen and sophomores whose parents’ primary residence is outside the 25-mile radius are required to live in University housing.
All apartments come fully furnished with wall-to-wall carpeting, kitchen appliances, fire detection and suppression systems and include all utilities.
All large units are staffed by Student Affairs professionals. Most buildings have a Resident Director (RD) or a Graduate Assistant (GA). These individuals routinely go through extensive training to provide assistance during emergencies, counseling and crisis service intervention situations, and being an accommodating reference when needed. Additionally the University Security staff and Student Living staff make regular rounds of all buildings. Finegan, Wehrle, and North Halls also have night security guards who are in the lobbies from 11pm to 7am each day to provide added guidance and protection. The residence halls housing first-year students also have access to a live-in Campus Minister (CM) for spiritual and emotional needs. Likewise there will be a Resident Assistant (RA) on each wing of each floor in first-year buildings for every day interaction and guidance.
The University’s housing facilities have a number of different housing opportunities. Each apartment will include at least one of the following: kitchen, dinette area, bathroom and/or a vanity area, bedroom and living room. Most of the apartments are designed for four people however there is also a wide selection of 3-person, 2-person, and 1-person apartments. The University also operates fully functional houses for the Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Sigma Tau, and Phi Sigma Sigma sororities and the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity.
