Admissions Process to Charleston School of Pharmacy
Students applying to these program at Gannon are encouraged to apply for the January 15 yearly deadline. All applicants for these programs will be placed in a pool (one for each program) from which the top five students for each program are chosen. Once offered acceptance, students will have two weeks to send the enrollment deposit to reserve their space in the program. If the deadline passes without a deposit, the space will be given to another student and they will be placed at the bottom of the applicant wait list.
Pharmacy School Requirements (Charleston Phase)
Successful completion of the pre-pharmacy curriculum at Gannon University.
Minimum GPA of 3.25 in pre-pharmacy curriculum with no grades lower than a C.
GPA of 3.25 or higher for science and mathematics courses.
Submit two letters of recommendation. One of these letters MUST be from the pre-pharmacy committee at Gannon University and the other from a pharmacist.
Demonstrate experience in community/campus activism.
Submit a completed application for admission to the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy.
Students in this program cannot retake courses in which they have earned a D or F grade and remain in a conditionally guaranteed spot.
Score above the 65th percentile on the PCAT with an appropriate score on the writing sample.
Successfully interview with the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy faculty.
Successful completion of a criminal background check.

Gannon University and the University of Charleston in West Virginia work in collaboration to offer both an accelerated 2+4 and a 3+4 pre-pharmacy programs. Students spend either two or three years, respectively, at Gannon and an additional four years at the University of Charleston to complete the doctor of pharmacy degree. Students enrolled in the Gannon phase of these programs cannot apply to any other school of pharmacy.
At the University of Charleston students will complete their degrees in a new 45,000 square-foot, wireless building, which will house: multiple auditorium style classrooms, laboratories and a model pharmacy for teaching and assessment in a simulated practice environment.
