30 Hour Famine:
A thirty-hour fast designed to raise money so that children in third world countries can eat. Every three seconds a child dies of a hunger-related disease. Say no to hunger by becoming part of the solution. Get involved in 30 Hour Famine.
Service Retreat
This retreat is designed to focus on the needs of the Erie community while serving social agencies throughout the city.
Kentucky Service trip to Appalachia:
This trip educates for justice and exposes Gannon students to the culture and way of life in Appalachia. It is a chance to serve people who are economically less fortunate than ourselves, as the Gospel challenges us. Activities of the trip include physical labor, community building and visitation of local residents. Applications will be available in March.
Take Back the Night:
This is an annual rally to stop domestic violence. Social Concerns Club members develop leadership skills and awareness of social justice issues. The club has chosen to focus on issues of poverty, homelessness, and domestic violence awareness. Weekly service projects, Hunger and Homelessness Week, and Take Back the Night are ongoing projects for the group. New members are always welcome.
Hunger and Homelessness Week:
This event consists of an entire week devoted to raising awareness about hunger and homelessness issues at the local, state, national, and international level.
