Patron of the Arts Scholarship

art suppliesThe Schuster family and Gannon University are proud to offer up to ten scholarships to qualified students who make the Arts an integral part of their lives. Some students demonstrate a commitment to the Arts actively by composing, performing or creating. William Schuster created an endowment for these scholarships in loving memory of his wife Frances, who was deeply committed to the Arts. Students who are awarded these scholarships receive $2,500 annually, with the total value of $10,000 earned over four years at Gannon.

Patron of the Arts Scholarship Eligibility Guidelines:
A prospective freshman or adult student must:

  • Apply for full-time admission to the University by February 15
  • Return the completed application by February 15
  • Demonstrate support for the Arts in many areas of his/her life

Memorial Music Award

students in concert bandThe Schuster Memorial Music Award was endowed by William Schuster to encourage musicians to continue their creation of music at the college level as they pursue a degree in one of over 70 majors offered at Gannon. This scholarship rewards up to 15 qualified students for their music ability with $1,000 awarded annually, with the total value of $4,000 earned over four years at Gannon.

 

Memorial Music Award Eligibility Guidelines:
A prospective freshman, transfer, or adult student must:
  • Apply and be accepted for full-time admission to the University
  • Return the completed Memorial Music Award application 
  • Play a musical instrument (brass, woodwind or percussion)
  • Audition with the Director of the Gannon University Concert Band during Spring Open House. Other audition times can be arranged for extenuating circumstances.
  • Participate in the Gannon University Concert Band

There is no deadline to apply for this award, however, there are a limited number of awards.

Students are eligible to apply for and receive both scholarships.
