Dean
of the College of Engineering and Business
Gannon
University, a Catholic, Master’s I comprehensive university seeks innovative,
highly qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Dean of the
College of Engineering and Business. The Dean reports directly to the Provost
and Vice President for Academic Affairs and will lead this newly formed
college as part of the University’s exciting growth and expansion to a three
college organizational structure. This is a unique opportunity to lead the
development of a vision for the College taking advantage of the notable
strengths of the academicprograms
within the Schools of Engineering and Computer Science and the Dalhkemper
School of Business as well as synergies with Gannon’s Small Business
Development Center and Erie Technology Incubator. The College includes
undergraduate and graduate programs in electrical, environmental and
mechanical engineering, environmental science, engineering management and
computer and information sciences as well as a full spectrum of undergraduate

administration; with 37 full-time faculty serving approximately 900 students.
The Dean of the College of Engineering and Business is an integral part of the
University’s administrative team. The Dean will work closely with the Dean of
the College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, the Dean of the
Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences and the Dean of Graduate
Studies to continue to increase domestic and international student enrollments
and champion creative efforts in consonance with the University’s new
strategic plan.
The successful
candidate will be an exceptional teacher and scholar with significant
experience in academic program development, management, assessment, and budget
management; faculty mentoring and professional development; and program
marketing and community relations. This position requires the experience and
ability to build effective working relationships with state, regional, and
specialized accrediting agencies across both the disciplines of engineering,
including computer and information sciences, and business. A
keen understanding of the culture of higher education, strong interpersonal
and organizational skills, and the ability to create a productive,
collaborative work environment are also essential.
The ideal

A doctoral degree relevant to a program within the college
and a minimum of eight years of distinguished experience as a university
faculty member with credentials commensurate with senior faculty status
(tenured, associate professor), and a minimum of four years of progressive
experience in academic administration (preferably in the role of a
department chair, or a higher level, in a university context).

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing,
managing, and marketing high quality undergraduate and graduate programs;
preferably with experience in international educational programs and
partnerships.

Experience in
effective recruitment, retention, growth, and development of qualified
faculty; with a desire to strengthen and diversify the University faculty.

Ability to
use technology, research and analysis, higher education administrative best
practices, and the cumulative experience of the faculty and other

Administrator

Head Coach, Softball/Assistant Director of the Carneval Athletic Pavilion
Gannon
