What is the Mentoring Program?

The Mentoring Program connects students established in their majors with Gannon University alumni already working in the student's field of interest. The goal is to provide students with information and advice on how to succeed in their chosen fields.

What is Expected of Students?

Once given the contact information for their mentor, students must initiate contact through telephone, email, or in person. Students should have questions prepared in advance about career-related topics. Students must behave professionally when interacting with their mentors.

What is Expected of Mentors?

Mentors provide information and encouragement to students. They share experiences and invite questions. Mentors are encouraged to provide prompt responses to student inquiries whenever possible. If possible, mentors may provide shadowing experiences as well.

How can Students Get Involved?

Schedule an appointment with the Center for Experiential Education. A counselor will meet with you to discuss your career goals and to connect qualified students with alumni volunteers. A student must have declared a major to participate in this program.
