ENTRY LEVEL NETWORK OPERATION CENTER ENGINEERS needed at Yahoo! Worldwide Network Operations Center in Lockport, New York.  The primary responsibilities will be monitoring and remediating both systems and network performance through the use of various network management tools and ticketing systems.  The NOC Engineer will also be responsible for interfacing with internal/external customers on operational issues by dispatching on-call engineers, facilitating communication and driving resolution to events via standard operating procedures.  Additional responsibilities will require running reports, tracking escalations and other key performance indicators and to provide application administration in a 'run time' environment based on root cause and analysis of logs, alerts and various other diagnostic tools.  A Bachelor’s Degree in CS, CIS, MIS, EE, ET, or a related field required; in depth academic/working knowledge of UNIX/LINUX operating environment with the ability to navigate, manipulate and understand the file structure; experience with Unix diagnostic tools and commands; solid understanding of the TCP/IP network environment; and knowledge of DNS, NFS, TCP/IP and other internet protocols also required.  For more information and to apply, click here.
