Academic Excellence
Professor Elisa Konieczko, Ph.D. and Biology major John OshlickGannon University offers more than 70 undergraduate and nearly 25 graduate programs. Our evolving curriculum provides students the opportunity to build morally and intellectually significant lives and careers in an ever-changing world. A value-centered education in both liberal arts and professional specializations prepares students for leadership roles in their careers, society, and church.  Gannon has been consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Reports as one of America's Best Colleges.

Faith in Action
Mosaic on campusAs a Diocesan university, Gannon is grounded in the Catholic tradition. We warmly welcome persons of all faiths and backgrounds, providing opportunities for respect, and enrichment through an inherent diversity within the Gannon community. Campus Ministry actively provides opportunities for faith development through daily/weekend liturgies, retreats, and weekly Bible studies.  Alternative Spring Breaks and Service-learning classes enhance our students' learning through hands-on experience -- both on campus and abroad.

Location, Location, Location
Students at Presque IsleWe are located on the bayfront in Erie, Pennsylvania's fourth largest city and one of the busiest ports on the Great Lakes. Positioned directly in the heart of downtown Erie, Gannon is in the midst of a geographical triangle.  Cities such as Cleveland, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh are all within two hours' driving time, as is the Canadian border.

Our location in Erie enables students to easily find internships and co-op jobs with federal, state, and local government agencies, accounting, law, and marketing firms, hospitals, industrial and insurance companies, and museums.

The Gannon Campus is also in close proximity to Presque Isle State Park. A popular tourist attraction, Presque Isle includes seven miles of beaches, lagoons, hiking trails and biking and jogging paths. Presque Isle Bay, which leads into Lake Erie, is located six blocks from campus.

For fun, you can catch a Seawolves baseball game (AA affiliate of the Detroit Tigers), an Otters hockey game, take in a concert, play or movie, enjoy several festivals throughout the year, go shopping at the Millcreek Mall, or even take a trip to the Erie Zoo!

Student Centered
Students on Campus A 14:1 student to faculty ratio ensures that students receive the genuine commitment and personal attention they are seeking. Our caring and expert faculty take a holistic approach to education, reinforcing ethics and values in the curriculum. We bring out the best in you -- not just academically, but personally, socially, and spiritually as well.

Our P.R.O.M.I.S.E.
2004 P.R.O.M.I.S.E. pHOTO Each year during orientation, the incoming class gathers for a group photo. More importantly, this time is used to promote a unified community through P.R.O.M.I.S.E., which stands for Promoting Responsible Ongoing Management In Social Environments.

Wearing their new P.R.O.M.I.S.E. t-shirts, students recite this promise:

I promise to make healthy and responsible decisions; to show respect for god, myself, others, and the environment; to support the gannon community and wear my P.R.O.M.I.S.E and Gannon apparel with pride when I attend healthy social options such as GU athletic events, Activities Programming Board (APB) and student sponsored activities, volunteer and service projects, and cultural and arts events.
