Undergraduate Admissions

Beginning with the fall 2007 semester, Gannon University began offering eligible incoming freshmen from Ohio and New York a Gannon Opportunity Grant. This Gannon grant is awarded to replace the state grant dollars that are not permitted to be brought into Pennsylvania from these two states.

For example, an Ohio resident who chooses to attend an in-state college, might qualify for $4,600 through the Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG). But they would have to relinquish all but $600 of that state grant if they attend school outside of Ohio. Therefore, using this case as an example, Gannon University will award this student a Gannon Opportunity Grant in the amount of $4,000 to offset the difference.

Along these same lines, Gannon will award a New York resident qualifying for $4,500 through New York state's Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) a Gannon Opportunity Grant in the amount of $4,500.

To qualify for a Gannon Opportunity Grant, just file the FAFSA and verify that you qualified for OCOG or TAP.
