Complete the following steps:
Step 1
File the Gannon Financial Aid Early Version Award (EVA) Application which is included in the Admission Application Packet. You will receive your estimated award letter shortly after being accepted to Gannon. This letter will contain estimated amount of all financial aid (including grants, loans, scholarships and/or employment) for which you are eligible. We recommend you complete this application at the same time you complete your Admissions Application to ensure timely processing.
Step 2
Apply online for the federal Personal Identification Number (PIN) at www.pin.ed.gov. One parent of a dependent student must also secure a federal PIN.
Step 3
File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA application is available in mid-December of your senior year in high school and can be submitted beginning January 1st. Send your form by mail or file online at www.fafsa.ed.gov signing with student (and parent) federal PINS. Your FAFSA is required to be on file before any of your financial aid is finalized. The recommended filing date for the FAFSA is no later than March 15 of the year you plan to enroll at Gannon. The deadline to be considered for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Grant is May 1 of the year you plan to enroll. Deadlines vary for states other than Pennsylvania. Contact your guidance counselor for your home state's deadline.
Step 4
Complete the Federal Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note. While eligibility for a student loan may be indicated on an award letter, securing those funds still requires the submission of a separate Master Promissory Note (MPN). The MPN can be completed online at www.aessuccess.org. The recommended filing date is May 15 of the year you plan to enroll at Gannon.
Step 5
Carefully review any communication you receive from our Financial Aid Office, the Federal Student Aid Programs, your state agency, and/or your lender. All requests for information should be returned promptly to the appropriate department or agency, or call the Financial Aid Office for assistance.
Note: Students applying for scholarships that require separate applications should also meet those deadlines.
Note: All transfer students must also supply Gannon with an official Financial Aid Transcript from all colleges previously attended. Forms are available from the Financial Aid Office.
