How do I sign up for an Orientation session?

  • A mailing will be sent to all admitted freshmen in late March inviting students/parents to attend one of the four orientation sessions. A booklet explaining the program and a reservation card will be included. Select your first and second choice of sessions and mail the enclosed reservation card along with payment to the Office of New Student Services. Sessions are assigned on a first come, first served basis and there is limited space at each session. So, respond early to secure your first choice.

How much does orientation cost?

  • The cost is $55 per person (students/parents) to reside on campus during orientation. This fee includes meals, overnight accommodations and orientation materials. If you choose to commute to campus for orientation the cost is $30 per person.

Does it matter which orientation session I attend?

  • Generally you are welcome to attend any session that fits your schedule if it is open. However, advisors for the Program for Students with Learning Disabilities (PSLD) are only available at selected sessions. Students who have already been accepted into PSLD are requested to attend session 1 (June 22-23) or session 3 (July 13-14).

Will I receive a confirmation of my orientation reservation?

  • A confirmation letter will be mailed to you approximately 2-3 weeks after your reservation form is received.

Is there a deadline for making an orientation reservation?

  • Yes, the reservation deadline is June 13.  Reservations will be processed after that date, however, spaces will be filled on an availability basis. Reservations received by the deadline will be given priority. We cannot guarantee that space will be available for late registrants at specific sessions.

Will I get the orientation session I want?

  • All orientation sessions are filled on a first come, first served basis. So the earlier you send in your reservation form the better chance you will have of getting the session you want.

What if I need to change the session for which I am registered?

  • If something should come up where it is impossible for you to attend the session you are scheduled for and you are in need of a change, please contact the New Student Services Office immediately.

Will I receive a refund if I cancel my reservation?

  • In order to receive a refund, reservations must be cancelled two (2) weeks prior to each session. All refunds will be processed after August 1.
