Gannon University and the League of Women Voters Host Candidates Night for County Council District 2

Gannon University and the League of Women VotersĀ® of Erie County will sponsor a Candidates Night on Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. for candidates for the Second District seat on Erie County Council.Ā  The event will be held in the Yehl Room of the University's Waldron Campus Center, 124 W. Seventh St.

Participants will deliver a two-minute opening statement after which they will answer questions, both from the audience and prepared in advance. All questions will be addressed to all candidates, each of whom will have 60 seconds to answer. Ben Speggen, managing editor of the Erie Reader, will serve as moderator and time will be kept by League members.

Lisa Austin, Andre Horton and Ned Smith are vying for the seat representing the district that stretches from Pittsburgh Avenue to portions of Lawrence Park along the Erie Bayfront.

Residents of the Second Council District are encouraged to attend.
