Kathleen Kingston, Ph.D. named associate provost

Kathleen Kingston, Ph.D. has been selected as associate provost at Gannon University. Prior to her appointment, Kingston served as associate professor of education and associate director of the School of Education in Gannon's College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences.


Kingston joined Gannon associate professor in Fall 2004. She has been an engaged member of the faculty, serving on various committees including Faculty Research, Graduate Council, Faculty Senate and College Rank and Tenure. Kingston has been instrumental in developing strategic international partnerships and collaborations with educational institutions in Jordan and Thailand.


Kingston has vast experience in all levels of education, having served as a public school administrator and then as an executive director at Allegheny College, Meadville, Pa., prior to joining Gannon.  Kingston was selected for the position upon completion of an internal search.


She has worked extensively to develop international programs that benefit students, University programs, and faculty through exchanges, service-learning, teacher training, and cultural immersion programs. Most recently Kingston and Tim Hartigan, Ph.D. accompanied Gannon students to Thailand to teach English at Hua Hin Salesian School in the town of Hua Hin, and to provide training workshops for teachers in Thailand's Roman Catholic schools.  An account of their efforts can be read here.
