Gannon University Hosts Annual International Night

Gannon University's annual International Night, a celebration of
international food, culture and performances, will take place on
Saturday, April 9 at 5:45 p.m. in the Hammermill Center, 620 Peach
St. Representatives and Gannon University students from over 20
countries will showcase their cultures for guests.
This year's theme is "A Taste of Harmony" and will be hosted by
Gannon's International Student Office (ISO) and the Global Unity at
Gannon University club (GU2).
The international food buffet will begin at 6 p.m. and will
include dishes from India, Nepal, Ireland, Jordan, Iraq, Vietnam,
Turkey, China, Japan, Ukraine, Poland, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Libya
and others. The entertainment portion of the event will begin at
7:15 p.m. and will include performances from the Alankar Odissi
Dance Center, Long's School of Irish Dance, Erie Wiwaty Polish Folk
Dancers, a guitar solo, singers and more.
Barbara Zarnick, the international student advisor for Gannon's
international student office, said International Night has been a
tradition at Gannon for almost 30 years in celebration of the
diverse students, staff and faculty at Gannon as well as members of
the Erie community.
"People look forward to attending each year, as do the
participants who share their talents through performances or
preparing traditional food dishes," Zarnick said. "The
international student office and the students of Global Unity at
Gannon University continuously work to expand the community's
cultural understanding and encourage all those who have never
experienced this amazing event to join in honoring our growing
international community through food and fellowship."
All tickets must be purchased online at gannontickets.com prior
to the event; there will be no tickets available upon arrival.
Ticket prices are $14 for adults, $9 for college students, $7 for
children 5 and up, and children under 5 are free.
