Gannon University announces that it has joined the SAP® University Alliances program. The program provides faculty in the College of Engineering and Business with the world's premier tools and resources necessary to teach technology-enabled integrated business processes and strategic thinking - and gives graduates the skills required to add immediate value to businesses in the Erie region and beyond.

University Alliances member schools have full access to SAP Business Suite applications, such as the enterprise resource planning (ERP) application SAP ERP. The comprehensive business software suite supports business, engineering and information technology programs, enabling students to put classroom theory into practice through demonstrations, exercises and problem solving, case studies, simulations and research programs.

Through hands-on experience with SAP products, students at member schools gain insight into how technology can empower businesses to optimize key processes such as accounting and controlling, human capital management, supply chain management, project planning, plant and materials management, sales and distribution and more. Gannon University will use these tools to prepare students for a market requiring extensive knowledge and high skill levels as part of a global SAP network that provides thousands of direct job opportunities to qualified graduates.

Gannon University is the latest institution of higher education to join the SAP University Alliances program, which includes 1,000 institutions of higher education representing over 150,000 students worldwide. SAP is the world's leading provider of business software, offering ERP, business intelligence and related applications, and services to companies of all sizes and in more than 25 industries.

"We are excited to be a part of this industry-leading alliance. This is an important step for Gannon University's College of Engineering and Business in achieving its vision of offering exceptional programs with integrated experiential education and an ecosystem for transforming student, faculty, and community ideas into viable businesses," said Gannon University President Keith Taylor, Ph.D.
