Posted: January 17, 2014

In recognition of Martin Luther King Day, Monday, Jan. 20, Gannon University will proudly host a series of memorial events. A prayer service will begin at 9 a.m. in the Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel, 520 Peach St. The prayer service is open to the public.

Following the service, a City-wide Memorial March will begin at 10 a.m. The March will start in Perry Square and end at the MLK Center located at W. Third and Chestnut streets.

To end the day, at 11 a.m. a Memorial Lunch will be served in the Yehl Alumni Room in the Waldron Campus Center, 124 W. Seventh St. During lunch, donations for the School Supply and Student Reward Drive will be accepted. This drive collects school supplies and small "treasures"-- new/gently used backpacks, stickers, fancy pencils/pens, and small gift cards for teachers/mentors--for student rewards and incentives.

Immediately following the Prayer Service, interviews will take place in Perry Square before the Memorial March begins.
