Gannon Names New Director of Health and Counseling Services
Posted: April 22, 2014Gannon University announced that Stephen J. Large, Psy.D., has
been named director - health and counseling services.
In this position Large is responsible for the overall
leadership, vision, and management of the University's Health and
Counseling Services, which provides comprehensive services to
students using a holistic wellness approach. In addition to his
administrative duties, Large, a licensed psychologist, provides
individual, couples, group and crisis counseling to Gannon
students.
Large joined Gannon University in 2009 from the University of
Dayton where he was a staff psychologist and coordinator of
outreach in the Counseling Center. Large began his career in 2006
as a psychology intern at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's
Counseling & Consultation Services.
Large received his Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from
John Carroll University in Cleveland, and his doctorate from Wright
State University, where he was given the Diversity Dissertation
Award and the Excellence in the General Practice of Psychology
Award from the Wright State University School of Professional
Psychology Faculty.
He is a member of the American Counseling Association, the American College Counseling Association, the Association for
University and College Counseling Center Directors and the American
Psychological Association, which he serves on three of the 54
divisions (interest groups organized by members).
