GU Foreign Language Facts
Gannon foreign language students have the unique opportunity to choose from four different career tracks:
Foreign language and international studies, with an emphasis in business
Foreign language and international studies, with an emphasis in government
Foreign language and literature
Foreign language teaching program for Spanish, K-12
Gannon encourages students to take advantage of study abroad opportunities. Recently, students have participated in study abroad programs in Spain, Quebec, the Czech Republic, Australia, France and England.
Gannon has developed an initiative to encourage study abroad at St. Edmund Hall College of Oxford University.
Gannon’s foreign language courses are taught in modern language labs. Students also have access to these labs for individual study.
Gannon students can experience shorter overseas study tours to various destinations, such as: China, Italy, England, France, Greece, Ireland, the Canary Islands, Egypt, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, Panama and Bahamas.
About the Program
Gannon’s foreign language program is housed in the College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, making interdisciplinary studies seamless.
Foreign language works well as part of a dual major in disciplines such as international studies, history or political science.
