Program Overview
The Nurse Anesthesia program is designed to provide the professional
nurse with an in-depth concentration in clinical anesthesia and
prepare graduates of the program to assume the specialized role of
nurse anesthetist. Students have the opportunity to use research,
collaborate, and contribute effectively to the health care team’s
efforts to provide optimal patient care. Upon completion of the
program, students will be eligible to take the examination of the
Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists. This graduate nursing
option is a cooperative program between Gannon University and
UPMC-Hamot Medical Center. Krista Yoder, MSN, CRNA is the
co-director of this program.
NOTE: Students must attend full-time in this option.
