Recent Gannon CS graduates have secured employment at top organizations such as Bayer Corporation, Citizens Bank, Erie Insurance, General Electric, and Hamot Medical Center.
CS majors can be involved in student chapters of professional organizations including the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE).
Graduates from Gannon’s Computer Science program enjoy a 100% placement in either employment or graduate studies.

Nationally, more than one million systems-related professionals will be needed in the United States in the next 10 years according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Employment growth is expected to be much faster than the average of all occupations.
CS professions are identified as a “high priority occupation” by the Pennsylvania Center for Workforce Information and Analysis.
According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual salary was $97,970 in 2008 with the middle 50% earning between $75,340 and $124,370.
About the Program
CS majors in the program learn to:
Design and build software
Design and analyze algorithms for correctness and complexity Apply discrete mathematics and abstract structures to solve computational problems
Understand the interface between computer architecture and software applications
Apply quantitative measures to the evaluation of computational units
Professionally involved, technical faculty teach and mentor majors.
The CS program is hosted by the Computer and Information Science (CIS) department along with the related CIS majors of the computing and information fields: bioinformatics, information systems and software engineering.
The program shares CIS facilities and courses with the related majors in the computing and information fields enabling participation in interdisciplinary and team-based projects.
